The ApeCoin community endorses a $4.4 million bug bounty program

ApeCoin DAO, an independent decentralized organization responsible for overseeing the development of APE, the board Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem’s digital currency, has agreed to allocate $4.4 million to run a bug bounty program on ImmuneFi.

According to snapshots of votes that ended today, about 3.9 million APEs were cast in favor of the proposal, dubbed AIP-134.

The support vote ended with 57.92%, compared to 42.08% for those who pledged 2.9 million APE against the proposal.

The core of the bug bounty is creating an extra layer of security for the long-awaited staking ApeCoin service, which will go live in December.

ApeCoin DAO wants to help white-hat hackers and experienced developers find vulnerabilities or any easy hacks in putting smart contracts.

After the reward is approved, it can be released to “ImmuneFi” with 1 million APE for the reward to be forged by the protocol locker.

The DeFi ecosystem has seen a lot of hacker fights and harassment this year.

As one of the most reputable NFT pools, BoardApp users are prime targets for cybercriminals, and the company hopes the proposed bounty will help identify bugs and vulnerabilities before launching its staking service.
